Earlier this month, I attended the Christian Formation Conference at Kanuga, an Episcopal conference center near Hendersonville, NC.  It was a valuable opportunity to discover new resources, share best practices and learn about trends in Christian Education.  The conference theme was spiritual reconciliation, inspired by the words of that wonderful (if challenging to sing) hymn, St. Patrick’s Breastplate.  Days began and ended with opportunities for worship, and meals provided a wonderful environment for getting to know other participants.  The trends discussed included the need for compelling programs for senior adults, for intergenerational programming, and for programming targeted to millennials (who may prefer to access programs via social media outlets rather than inside church buildings).  It is good to know that so many church leaders, teachers and writers are working to address these topics.  What trends are you seeing at your church?
