Open Your Eyes – Viewing the World with Love

St. Clement’s Episcopal Church, Clemmons, NC and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Ft. Mill, SC – Multi-Parish Weekend at Kanuga Conference Center, Hendersonville, NC
As Christians, we can take steps to modify our view of the world. We can adopt Sabbath-time practices that allow us to recognize God’s goodness all around us and to view the world with loving, Christ-tinted glasses. This new perception can enable us to share Christ’s love with the world. During this weekend, we experimented with various tools and activities to help us open our eyes.

Faith & Work

A Christianity Today Study Series book, edited by Kelli Trujillo

Six-week book study at Christ Episcopal Church, Charlotte
Our culture frequently defines us by our jobs. The first question you are asked at a party usually is, “What do you do?” Whether we work for pay or volunteer our labor, we often seek personal satisfaction as well as more tangible benefits from what we do. As Christians, we believe our work should benefit the common good. This class discussed ways to make all our work an offering to God, while not allowing it to dominate our identity.

Writing Our Faith Stories

During this class, we discussed ways to explore and express our faith by writing about the events, lessons and stories that have shaped our lives. Writing prompts and group activities helped participants begin or deepen their writing practice.

By Judy Pace Christie Six-week book study at Christ Episcopal Church,
